Thesis Project

September 2011 – Present

Vancouver, BC

My economic thesis project for this semester is on the open source movement and free software’s effect on innovation. It involves examining data from the World Bank, World Intellectual Property Organization, US Bureau of Labor Statistics and the user data from the world’s biggest open source repositories (such as SourceForge.net) to investigate, among other things, if intellectual property rights stimulate innovation.
